Craig and Shane were holding hands when they fell victim to a brutal hate crime off Oxford Street in Sydney, Australia. The hardest year in these young men’s lives are captured through endless surgeries, physical and psychological recovery and their struggle to plan for their future. The image of Craig’s shattered face in the local newspaper and the lack of police investigation led Sydney’s queer community to hold a protest on their behalf, rallying behind our collective right to be in love in public.

‘Holding Hands’ won the Audience Choice Award for best film and the John M. Deen Memorial award at Spokane GLBT Film Festival AND the Special Jury Award at Kashish Mumbai Queer Film Festival in India!
