Join us at the Princess Twin Cinemas on Thursday March 3, 2011 for the Rainbow Reels 11 Gala! The event begins with a screening of the powerful film, 8: The Mormon Proposition and continues with a fantastic display of local art by queer artists, including local busker artists! Click here for the bios of the visual artists who will be having their art displayed during this gala event. Enjoy vegan hors d’oeuvres and beverages of all sorts as you mingle with other festival-goers and help us celebrate Kitchener-Waterloo’s 11th annual queer film festival!
When and where
The opening night screening starts at 7pm on March 3rd. The official gala will kick off at 9pm at the Princess Twin Cinemas.
What to wear
The Masqueerade is a formal event, so dress up – whatever that means to you!
What to bring
An appreciation for art, food, attitude, and all things “carnivalesque”. Bonus points for bringing a mask to wear. Oh, and your gala pass will get you into the event, and will get you one free drink from local brewery Steamwhistle, so you’ll probably want to bring that too, with ID.
How to get tickets
There are two ways to buy tickets to the gala event: Buy a gala pass, or buy a festival pass. Gala passes are $12 each, and will get you entry into the Masqueerade as well as into 8: The Mormon Proposition. Festival passes are $25 for students, and $35 for non-students; buying one of these will not only get you into the gala and the opening night film, but into all other festival films and events as well!
